I visited NYC for a week for the first time in June and loved every second of it. So much to do and see so I was never bored. Insanely walkable and filled to the brim with public transit. There were times I got on the trains just to ride them cause I don’t have them where I live. If I ever move out of my garbage state, that’s pretty high on my wishlist of places to live if I can find a job that pays better than my current job ($25/hr for 45-50+ hours a week) and a 1 bedroom apartment that I could afford (best ones around me are $1k/month).

I have an insulated lunchbox. All I bring is a cheap frozen thing, a breakfast bar, and a drink (usually something like Gatorade, Body Armor, or Crisp Ice).

I scrolled through around 5 months of comments I made and I don’t think I saw anything that even implied Harris is worse than Trump. I’ve talked shit about both options and both parties so this has to be “Anyone that didn’t support Harris must automatically love Trump” which is just the same shit conservatives think.

II think I just get find it odd that the only times I see them on my feed it’s them whining about people not doing what they want politically. Like damn dude do you have anything else going on? Do you ever just talk about movies or games you like? Their profile pic being that colorful blob makes them hard to miss.

I went to work, then therapy, then home where I watched YouTube and napped. I didn’t want to work, but have to to keep living.

Yeah if I saw this just around with no extra info I’d probably ignore it. Maybe including pics of what games to expect would help. Obviously when posted on the sites you mentioned and others like Meetup you can be more specific, but vagueness hurts. Like I check the Meetup app for things in my area and the things I go to state what exactly is there (for gaming is was Mario Kart 8 Deluxe casually and others are movie groups where the film is in the title).

“Bring your own” probably also turns people away cause they don’t know the crowd and might worry about things getting stolen or lost. Combine that with the vagueness and it comes off as nothing is available. Even the vague boardgame group I tried had examples in the title “Come play Uno, Rummikub, and more!” At least gave me an idea of what to expect with them.

I adore watching movies. I own so many physically and don’t mind using streaming services (especially free ones like Kanopy). Just being taken to another world for a while or even learning a bit more about our own in documentaries is nice. Even if the movie sucks or is mid I’d still rather watch than keep 100% focus on life.

Can the Midwest hope for any change? Tired of living in a state where people elect conservatives, but vote in favor of left leaning policies only to put on the shocked Pikachu face when the conservatives deny it.

I saw an example recently of a segment that seemed to last like 3-5 minutes in the anime, but was 4 panels in the manga. I don’t even think it was the full page. Is the anime really that bad at pacing?

Conan I don’t even think has a goal anymore. Like it started with wanting to reverse the poison, but how often is that even addressed these days? It’s just a fun way to tell crime stories now.

Even my nearly 70 year old father hates it. Not because he’s pro-paying artists or concerned about the environment (although it plays a part cause he loves his animals and nature), but because of how tacky it looks and how much the rich are profiting from it.

It’s a survival instinct. Take your gun and other weapons away while still wearing the outfit and you’ll see everyone start calling you out since their life is less on the line.

I don’t know anyone in this state, including the people I work with who I only talk to when I have to. We banned RCV last election so I’m just gonna keep doing what I’ve been doing. The Dems lose here by nearly half a million votes even in years where they overall win like 2020 so it’s not like it matters. Kind of freeing to vote my conscience at every single level.

Harris said she’s open to running again. So that’s at least 2.
