…so you just leave facial hair and fingernails on the floor, assuming the Roomba will clean them up? I have two Roombas. In every aspect, they work about 30% as well as expected, on a good day.
Yes. Sounds like you need a better robot vacuum. Mine handles it perfectly, and it was midrange 1.5 years ago.
…both are Roombas. The brand you mentioned. One is ten years old, the other ~2.5 years old. The older one works better than the newer one which I’ve already had to have replaced once. Besides the unreliability I see daily, they are pretty well known for their unreliability…
On hard flooring mine picks everything up on the lowest setting, on carpet it picks up almost nothing on the highest (Roborock)
My Roombas seem to randomly oscillate between “systematically cleaning every inch of the floor” and “randomly bumbling around the room, often dying nowhere near the base”. Yesterday I saw a new issue. The newer Roomba failed to run as scheduled. Checked the app and it says the robot is cleaning. Went and checked and it was sitting perfectly still on the base, just with the light on that it uses to light up dim rooms. In general if either of mine run three times in a row without multiple points of needing help, it’s a “win”. As far as cleaning all the details, I gave up on that long ago. I could notice a piece of debris on the floor which stays through multiple cycles. On carpet and hardwood. I got suckered into buying a second one somehow but I won’t make the mistake a third time.
I have a Roborock and hard wood floors. It gets everything. There’s nothing left, and it manages to go through the room systematically and reliably. It gets everything even on quiet or low, one pass is enough.
Ah, I didn’t know that brand existed. Maybe I’ll get one when I get fed up with these roombas
Pshh, I’ve got a robot vacuum and mop so I can piss on the floor.
It is a problem that can be solved, but I doubt that a robot vacuum is the ideal tool for it
