Put the enclosure in another room? If you don’t have another computer that you can hook it up to as a NAS, modern USB has pretty short cable length limits, but there are optical USB cables that can run much longer—convert the USB signal to optical, send it over fiber optic, convert it back on the other end. They aren’t cheap, as USB cables go, but they’re a lot less than 400 euros.
Thanks for the ideas. It is a small Dell Optiplex I run a jellyfin server on. The issue is more Ethernet. I guess easiest would be to just run it via WiFi, but I haven’t tried that out yet and am a bit worried over stability.
