Doesn’t have to be thousands of dollars. Just a thing you spent money on that turned out to be a complete waste.

None exist without significant privacy concerns

Eh, I removed the SIM chip from my 2015 Nissan Leaf. Took about 15 minutes with a screwdriver and YouTube.
