Gambling, like alcohol and tobbaco industry, is kept alive mostly by the addicts.
It should be banned from any society.
If you can identify addicts, you should try to help them stay away from it, not pull the rug from under them.
I am sooo glad I got a bad taste for gambling when I was a kid.
I remember going on an Baltic cruise with my family and trying the gambling machines as a kid.
I had some coins, gambled, won, got happy, kept going, and lost everything, got sad.
It was a small amount of money, but at the time it was probably the best money I have spent in my life as it put me off gambling completely.
I also know from games like Borderlands 2 where I have gambled with the in-game currency, that while I have no issues just walking past a gambling machine or table, if I start, I have a hard time walking away.
Having a strong distaste for losing money is why I don’t gamble. I dabbled in it, but holy hell, do I hate losing. The thrill of winning doesn’t even come close to the intensity of that hate, so it is easy for me not to. But I do feel for people who have a gambling addiction, it’s incredibly sad to see them throwing their inheritance or all the money they earned or anything they have away on a guaranteed loss.

Gambling is for the low IQ’s. It always uplifts the worst among us and you get nothing for it. If nothing else is profitable then everything becomes gambling. Like cross your fingers and hope you are not eating a donkey burger with glass shards.
I’ve worked as a cashier and see the same people destroy their lives from simple Lotto. They don’t even need trips to Vegas or online sites. Exploiting these people is bad enough, state governments shouldn’t be the ones doing it.
