My wife’s father was killed on 9/11. We usually go to the memorial on the anniversary. Its incredibly, incredibly somber. The reading of the names, the bells ring and time stops. Everything goes silent, and people are crying everywhere you look. I didn’t know her dad, but it’s the most difficult thing in the world for me every year. I truly can’t imagine what she and other family members feel. I have empathy, but this is different. I can’t describe the way you feel pain hanging in the air, but it’s almost as though it’s being hugged away by the other families who lost theirs. You feel it, but it’s insulated in a way.
Now think of the many places like that and how millions feel around the world that the US has created.
I think about that often, but this is a wildy stupid point. As if all these innocent people and their families somehow deserved 9/11 because of the actions of our government. My wife was a child when this happened, you think she understood what the fuck was going on in the middle east? You’re an idiot.
I agree we are bad actors in a lot of ways, but I can also think and feel two things at once. What a one dimensional and ignorant thing to say. Grow up.
