To add to this, for those dogs that are behaved, I don’t know that. I have never met your dog before and assume all dogs are hostile until they prove otherwise. Just because you think your dog is okay with strangers, what happens if I happen to have my own dog on a leash who is not okay with strangers dogs approaching them.

Your choice to keep a pet should not be the burden of others to determine the safety of.

Statistically the likelihood of the dog being aggressive is far lower than of it being docile and overexcited. However kicking at them will tip the scales heavily the other way. Something something 50k years of domestication. I grew up with pits and wolf hybrids and broke up quite a few dog fights as a 100lb teenager so. I’m not afraid of body slamming a dog if needed. You have oposable thumbs and arms they have 4 legs I promise you it’s not a fair fight for them and you don’t need to be afraid.

There are plenty of children and elderly who are not capable of body slamming your pit bulls and wolf hybrids.

not OP but your point is very ableist and relies on your personal experience which none of us share…

it might be true for you butits not helpful for the rest of us (and we’d all be better off if dog owners had a better grasp of their dog responsibilities - which we all know will never happen)
