I’m torn on this especially when it comes to Facebook. If you still haven’t heard that they’re an evil company after all these years it’s a bit on you too.
I definitely understand the idea behind this, but it still kind of serves to legitimise the evil that they do by placing the fault on the user.
These corporations have spent billions of dollars and hours of work to make their products alluring and addictive. They trap people, and have nestled themselves in as facilitators of community, and social interaction, something the vast majority of humans crave and work towards.
