Passenger: So… is your name actually Christ? Is it short for Christopher or Christian or something?

Driver: I’ll be honest. I’m an Ecuadorian named Jesus. I just don’t want ICE to kidnap me

I live in the Twin Cities Minnesota and my work has me dealing with a lot of people doing this kind of gig work. A lot of the immigrant regulars stopped working during metro surge and some of them just never came back. I hope they found better work but I know at least some were just straight up kidnapped by the Gestapo. It’s fucked.

There’s a rugby player called Christ - commentators call him a sound more like Chris and then add a t at the end… “Chrissed” as an approximation.

Bassist for Nirvana’s name was Krist, pronounced the same way, basically how I assume the driver’s name in the OP was pronounced too.

TIL: There is no such person as Chris Novacelic (sp?) - I’ve always misheard his name.

Please don’t tell me it was Kirk Cobain…

Kurt Cocaine is what my wife calls him.

She said it by accident one time when we were first dating and I laughed so hard I almost pissed myself, so the name has stuck.
