In an exclusive interview after meeting President Donald Trump, Mayor Zohran Mamdani said he believes the Democratic Party has lost sight of what’s important to voters and he doubled down on his criticism of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

NYC meeting: President Donald Trump thanked Mayor Zohran Mamdani for hosting him at Gracie Mansion in New York today and said he hoped he would be a “great” mayor. Trump is in town to attend the United Nations General Assembly, where he will address world leaders tomorrow.

What they discussed: Mamdani said the two discussed the safety of immigrants and building a better New York. Trump said he reminisced about past visits to Gracie Mansion and he also left the door open to supporting a massive housing development plan backed by the mayor.
