The head of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Mohsen Rezaei bashed as “illegal” a move by the UN nuclear watchdog (IAEA) this week to refer Iran to the UN Security Council for alleged non-compliance with the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).

“The anti-Iran resolution adopted by the Board of Governors is illegal, technically unfounded, entirely political and unacceptable, bearing the clear imprint of US and Zionist pressure,” Rezaei wrote on X.

“The IAEA’s politicised & disruptive actions will push countries toward withdrawing from the NPT,” he added.
