Former Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH), who is also the current Democratic Senate candidate for Ohio, found himself in hot water in a past campaign over his response to anti-trans attacks from Republicans, and now he appears to be taking a different approach.
Instead of trying to defend or explain his views on trans rights, Brown released an ad last week slamming Republicans for focusing on trans people at all, when there are so many bigger challenges facing the state.

Yes, sometimes compromises can be made, but I don’t understand this logic. I understand we’re being forced into a situation where we have to choose between things like trans rights versus genocide, which is bullshit. If you vote for someone who takes AIPAC money, don’t expect any progress to be made when it comes to ongoing genocide.

If you vote pro-genocide, then you have to live with that fact. So yes, I understand at this point, voting any option just promotes further genocide. You vote for someone you believe in, there’s still more genocide, because there’s enough pro-genocide voters to overwhelm you. But at least you weren’t complicit in it. That moral responsibility isn’t on that individual voter, it’s the mass majority of voters who compromise on genocide. So I’m not going to wag my finger at someone for voting with their conscience.
