Schadenfreude requires someone to suffer for your pleasure. Eating fries generally does not require someone to suffer for you, unless you derive some kind of sick pleasure from knowing the potatoes were picked by someone who probably doesn’t get paid enough to sacrifice their body and the person making the fries probably wants to do something else.
