I have brought my phone into the bathroom (not shower) exactly twice, in my entire life… and both times it was because I was expecting a vitally important call, and could not wait for the call to come before getting in the shower.

I would love for CRTs to be manufactured again, but that instutitional knowledge is probably long gone, as is the equipment that produced it… so making them again would, probably, be a trillion dollar ordeal.
The only thing that modern TVs beat CRTs on is weight.
I’d rather have my 200lbs behemoth CRT back, than to have a smart TV thats just gonna die in 3 to 5 years, just like the last one, and the one before it.

youtube/google is spending more time, money and reputation (not that it cares about reputation since its the only player in the game) trying to defeat adblockers, than it would have ever spent on just moderating its platform to make sure its not airing scams, malicious misinformation, frauds, hoaxes, outright porn, and all the other nasty shit that piss people off about the advertising.
