A boycott is not an attempt to ruin a business. You need to look up words you don’t understand before starting arguments about them.

I apparently try to explain simple situations to people that don’t understand what boycotts are.

And the community is allowed to say “we don’t want to come to your bar any more”, and that’s EXACTLY what this boycott is. They aren’t telling her she has to change, just that they won’t be coming to her bar any more if she doesn’t. People are allowed to choose not to visit a piece. And you somehow have a problem with that??? You seem to think a boycott shouldn’t be allowed and that people should be FORCED to visit her bar? WTF is wrong with you?

Having a mask free night isn’t going to save a failing business. Having vulnerable customers get sick and die there most definitely WILL.

That kind of defeats the purpose of it being a safe place for immunocompromised women.

I looked at a few of the posts from the screen shot and most of that “engagement” is people warning other people that it’s bot posted content, or pointing out reposted Reddit memes. I don’t consider that real engagement. There are a few that seen to have created real discussion, but the majority of the posts are noise.

Because it’s a bar for immunocompromised women and they don’t want people to die.

Bots are not “solving that problem” because the lack of posts was never really the problem in the first place. The problem was lack of anything to engage with. Bot posts do nothing for engagement. Replying to their posts is just talking into the wind.

We to want to have conversations with real people; to know that when we insult the poster’s mother that we’re causing real, lasting harm to a flesh and blood person.

It makes more sense if you consider that they don’t believe “brown people” are “real people”, therefore they don’t really “exist”, don’t deserve “insurance”, and can go “die”.

It’s just an excuse to hurt people they don’t like.
