I have a pair of old-ish but expensive Sony bluetooth over-the-ear headphones. On Windows, their microphone doesn’t work. I’ve searched the web and apparently, that’s just it, nothing I can do.

Let’s just say that Linux invites tinkering, and there are consequences. If you install a mainstream (fedora), reliable (fedora) distro, and just do normal stuff, it’s unlikely you’ll encounter more issues than Windows. Or even a tenth of the issues.

With home assistant we usually monitor a smart plug: instant power goes above x value -> cycle has started, power goes (close) to zero for x time -> cycle has ended, send notification. In my case I raise a flag value that reminds me periodically to unload the machine until I confirm that I’ve done it

Microsoft killed the competition with every underhanded tactic they could use, they atrophied the PC ecosystem, the damage they’ve done is incalculable, and now that they don’t have the same power anymore, it seems that doing damage is still their main objective, dedicating even more resource to achieve it
