I’ve had cars going the other way on a road slow down to yell at and intimidate me, even though I’m on the other side of the road and observing traffic laws. I wear a motorcycle helmet, in part, for fear that one day one of these nutjobs will throw something at me. The entitlement is absolutely bonkers.

I’m fortunate that there are a ton of residential roads I can use to get where I’m going, and in the main city corridor there are bike lanes protected (mostly) by curbs, but I’ve had dozens of cars just stray into my bike lane when pulling out of McDonald’s or trying to cross a main road, and culturally, I’m well aware that it’s on me to make sure I’m the on ensuring my safety and not the asshole behind the two-ton death machine.

The cyclists have every right to use that road as cars.
