The C word is definitely a dirty word.

I’m always trying to think of a suitably offensive term for people who believe heirarchies are natural and desirable. 'Rarchs, supremacists, boot-brained, the cruelty-inclined - nothing good so far.

Faith in heirarchy - the conviction that others deserve to suffer for your benefit - is the poison seed from which springs the objectively worst behaviour of humanity: war, genocide, slavery, empire, fascism, capitalism, colonialism, monarchy, institutionalized religion, etc.

Oh you know, just the kind of things they do on remote privately owned islands.

I did my duty, i held my nose and voted for the lesser of two evils.

But there’s no sensible reason to blame genocide opposing progressives instead of the genocide supporting DNC who stubbornly refused to advance policies their own base wanted.

The DNC decided to risk democracy in order to save a genocide - possibly the single most irresponsible decision in the 21st century. Blame them, they deserve it.

Right wing popularity is fueled by anxiety and wealth inequality.

The idea that the right gains popularity after the left institutes left wing policies is a right wing talking point, not fact. Left leaning policies enjoy popular support across almost all policy domains because they benefit many, whereas right leaning policies benefit few.

Blaming left leaning policies in the US is especially laughable because there are none. Not since the end of the civil rights era. Gay marriage, that’s it. And that really affects nothing compared to the impact of right wing policies like obamacare’s empowering of insurance corps, forgiving corporate crimes as “too big to fail”, forgiving US war criminals by not punishing them, etc. And that’s just obama.

When people are scared, a slightly greater percentage will agree that taking resources from the disadvantaged is the easiest solution.

And when the rich command far far greater resources they can use them to overcome the popular resistance to policies that benefit them and disadvantage people in general.

Fear and rising wealth concentration.

I didn’t find that everything was sweet. Most things tasted normal. Beer tasted oddly sweet, citrus was very sweet, but almost everything we ate at hotpot tasted the same. Maybe spicy things were less spicy.
