Yeah, Microsoft removed the Start Menu and added full screen tiles, that were widgets that updated with stuff (like news). I don’t remember when the two 2 control panels things happened, Windows had always been a mess to me up to that point. It could’ve been sooner or later, because Windows was built with legacy support in mind.

Honestly, 8 and 8.1 weren’t bad visually (technically a whole different matter). I wouldn’t mind making my WM resemble good old Windows 8, but actually has a sane technical base of Linux underneath it.

Ah, the curse is continuing to spread…They could’ve used that $70 million to retain staffers and keep people employed instead of throwing them to the wolves. LLMs are such a bullshit thing, I hate that every corpo associated with tech is peddling some method of attempting to get the public at large to be okay with LLMs. In this case using a so called “Educational Slop Program” approach. Tricking people into being dependent on Fancy Slop-Complete Software isn’t going to help anyone.

Like, I dunno if it actually disappoints me anymore. I will just laugh at their suffering. That is all that can be done, if they want to burn and destroy their whole workflows…Let them choke on that exciting time! While all of my problems, will be caused by me and me alone.

ROFL Some people are getting so high on LLMs, it’s not likely to happen anytime soon (I am noticing weird embraces of them despite their known and fundamental flaws). They want to embrace the madness of a machine that can’t actually think taking the wheel for them. The thinking machines aren’t in the room with us, but some people yearn for this. Which is something I cannot understand or empathize with in the slightest.

LOL I don’t feel bad for this developer, as they made a very poor choice to trust Claude Code. I will just laugh until the Claude Code trust is finally degraded and LLMs are finally discarded!

Wow, doesn’t seem very Beginner Perspective at all…Seems like years of experience, used to interpret GNU Guix, which is new to them. Title is a bit inaccurate in that respect.

Keep doing it until they feel it and know! A one time blackout isn’t enough, there needs to be consistency.

That feels like a very clear read to me as well, they were woefully unprepared to design a compelling linear game. I wouldn’t call making linear games easy, because they can get just as repetitive as an open world title faster. So many careful decisions are required to make a linear game come alive, fun, well timed diversions…Thematic cohesion that breathes live into the world and makes it feel lived in. Also, it shouldn’t have been too difficult to not insult the gamer’s intelligence with all the markers and guidance, the weird and unjustified breakable placement. The “hidden” chests is so crazy, like it wasn’t even that difficult to find some of them. Even the Logan that they crafted, felt incredibly wrong as he was more of an asshole with a heart of gold. The under utilization of cool characters like Mystique just screams mistake to me. The initial impression I got from watching this review is: Insomniac thought they could make an uninspired, borderline slop game and have their praises sung.

Insomniac better pay for this incredible misstep, they better get fuck all in terms of sales, and low ass ratings. Critically torn the fuck apart for the right reasons (not stupid culture war bullshit from stupid hate mongering tourists in gaming spaces).

Honestly, that feels like a shame…Those Insomniac bubs dropped the ball BIG time with this game. It’s going to be the best example of what not to do in game design for years to come. How cute, cursed, and fun. If they were going to make a watered down and dismal game, they should’ve just let Ubisoft handle it and take more hits to their already harmed reputation.
