In German there is a show very similar to this.
Two chefs challenge the other to cook some restaurants signature dish blind (without knowing what’s in it).The chefs only get to try it once, and not in the restaurant. Then they have to cook it for the original’s chef’s guests in the original kitchen, with ingredients they bought themselves.
It’s called Kitchen Impossible, they aren’t both trying to match the same recipe, they both challenge each other with what they think will be hardest. Very funny and you learn a lot of shortcuts for flavors…
