If you sac a myr retriever to krark clan ironworks in order to pay for something you’re casting then myr retriever is already in the graveyard when myr retriever’s trigger goes on the stack allowing it to retrieve itself. This is because the sac effect of ironworks is a mana ability and thus moves the creature you sac outside of the stack itself.

I’ve been running the same deck for 12 years now with various twists and turns in the build. Imagine you’re standing in an empty warehouse and I paint a big red X under you before tediously assembling the worlds most complicated mousetrap filling every square inch of the space. For the first half you’re amused because it’s so precarious it couldn’t possibly work but then you’re confused because it just keeps going and getting weirder. Finally you attempt to parse out what thus thing actually does and before you get to the 8th moving part you die of an aneurysm as you realize I’ve just been building Inexplicable rule interactions to simulate a first person view of unmedicated ADHD.

That’s kind of been the standard for the history of the game though. One of the first things I teach a new player is that every rule is followed by a footnote that reads “unless a card says otherwise.”

Exile has always been the “don’t touch me til you do the thing” area.

I’m aware of that, but also I wanted to mock them for being so obviously cronically unfuckable.

I remember most of the things from my dreams on account of years of practice, but most recently I had a really silly exchange.

Dreaming of a break at dream work, I’ve taken off my boots and I’m sitting with my spouse in the food court. 3 dream coworkers come by

Dream coworker, “What’s that word on your socks about?”

looks at socks, word is “Viganté”, “fuck if I know, probably something to do with the brand.”

Dream coworker, inspects socks again, “Little-D socks company…”

Other dream coworker to my spouse, “more like big D amiright!?”

Then I woke up.

Outside of this, most of my dreams are spooky or surreal and not as fun.

“We hired you because we knew you were cronically unfuckable. Now that you have a taste of confidence and a good paycheck, we can’t have some broad giving you a reason to question your role in the gestapo.”
