Listen, you’re like Richard Stallman railing against the word “hacker” being used to describe security crackers instead of meaning just “tinkerer”, because that’s what it originally meant.

You’re like him in that outside of a tiny subculture you’ll be completely ignored, and you’re better off coining a new word and promoting use of that instead of waging war against the semantic tide.

“I’m not a Zionist, I’m a leptozionist” or something, then define your new term. That way people can speak concisely without having to guess what the other people thinks the definition of their word is. Your new term means either your new meaning or “what’s that?”.

And keep in mind that every minute fighting for your word back is a minute not promoting its merits. It’s makework. It’s not actually productive.

If I were Israel (as in, the whole govt of the country) and I wanted to act in good faith to resolve the Gaza situation, here’s what I would do:

1. Find Palestinians to manage an interim govt (that is friendly to Israel), and recognise+empower them.
2. Seize parts of Gaza (this part is already done) and transfer control to said govt. Lift the seige on the parts of Gaza that are controlled by the friendly govt (a necessary precursor to repairing their economy and recognising their sovereignty without being in a permanent state of war with them).
3. With support from the friendly govt, push out the rest of Hamas territory
4. Spend a bunch of money rebuilding Palestine’s economy and rebuilding relations with them.
5. Keep doing that a while and then negotiate in good faith, since you’ve clearly demonstrated good faith.

No they’re not. Plenty of MAGAts are just monarchists, or think that Trump will fix the USA, without having a specifically Christian ideal. Also a handful of them are Jewish, e.g. Ben Shapiro.

I imagine it’s like photography, where the main skill is in positioning and such. Or like any art, where having the right eyes and good taste is what makes good art great. A real artist could make prettier slop than a layman could.

On the one hand: Yes, go to the ballot and vote blue. Even if they’re 99% Hitler. If you think you have “nothing to lose”, go look at Syria or Russia. ‘The worst the Republicans could do’ is worse than you can imagine.

On the other hand: Have you ever heard of the ultimatum game? Imagine you and a friend are offered $100, and your friend offers you a split of $X. You can either accept the $X, or reject it and you both get nothing. You might think you should accept the $X no matter how low, but if the scenario happens again and you have rejected low values last time, your friend will be more likely to offer you a fair X. Otherwise, if your friend’s a bastard (and he is), he’ll offer you $1.

Anyway, in 2020 the X offered was a Biden, and in 2024 the X offered was a Kamala. If every Leftist votes for Biden/Kamala/Next, then the DNC will keep offering the same dogshit or even shift right because 1) they want to grab more centrist voters (who won’t vote for a more progressive candidate), and 2) they won’t lose any leftist voters so why not. And then when the right-shifted candidate loses they’ll blame it on “leftists didn’t vote enough” anyway, in spite of the statistics saying otherwise.

So in other words: If you’re willing to vote for a 99% Hitler, don’t be surprised if you’re offered a 99% Hitler. Unless you’re expecting the DNC to be extremely principled, anti-corruption, and spineful?

“Vote blue no matter who” isn’t a solution; it’s forfeiting democracy (if you follow it, you literally don’t get to choose not to vote blue) in pursuit of… not letting Republicans in. Great! The Dems reliably prevented Trump from being re-elected, right? No, he trod water in the status quo but didn’t actually fix the core problems, so Trump’s “vote me in and I’ll burn down the system” still resonated with voters. But hey, at least Biden prosecuted Trump and all the criminals who he enabled to flagrantly break the law and rewrite it to their benefit? Not really, no.

“Vote Blue No Matter Who” is a travesty which can be at best justified as a strategy of lesser evil - but still evil. If it doesn’t have an expiry date then you’ve already abolished democracy, and that’s fucking horrifying, even if it’s the correct strategy.

Shipping containers are a bad idea because 1) you need to cut holes for doors/windows and that destroys the stack ability, 2) any shipping container old enough to not be resellable (and therefore costly) is not in a good condition to make a house out of, 3) you still need a foundation and pipes/power so you’re not saving that much money compared to a wood frame, and 4) steel sucks at insulation like you said (not to mention shipping containers don’t have eaves).
