Ah so the oil companies approached the advertisers and were like boy have we got an idea? All gas stations are not multi billion dollar companies lol, the last two local ones i saw change hands went for under $1M and they have local owners, only one had ads, and it was part of the new owners upgrades… so like that was a member of my community who replaced gas tanks to sell ads. It’s clearly worth some money, and was not forced upon them.

1·7 minutes agoI agree workers and labor need to take back power. Like Marx where he makes sense, like him less because his followers. There is absolutely no book to read about how humans created an idealistic society and we just kinda forgot about it. We’re constantly striving and building for it. And yes! we all agree there should be a balance of power in society, labor has let itself die while being occupied by cheap tricks and novelties. Labor likes capitalism, you can see these mother fuckers killing themselves to own an F-350. That person is not going to change, nor are they going to operate well in your idealistic system. So you’re playing the long game, an ideological game. It will happen when you stop telling people to read marx. As if a couple more million theory loving communists had the will to bring billions of people into their ill thought out society. Long game man its going to take generations and all you can really do is lead by example and build the steps.
This guy gets it. But ya in fairness you have to have a post office to be considered an actual town. Delivery cars need gas stations. Your rural town is limited to 3 businesses one of which must be a gas station.
2·6 hours agoI’ve worked in construction most of my life and I always wonder how code enforcement will come down hard on small projects and do nothing about larger ones. This is a local government issue, and the locals write the laws….

Yea i started planning one out this spring and opted for DIY. its still expensive as fuck and i hate myself for taking on the project. But i also cant afford to heat my house with kerosene anymore so something had to break. it was my back and my bank they broke. Not to mention Tariff King bumped the prices up on everything 50% or more. It’s worth the peace of mind, but its honestly a 10k adventure.

No i was genuinely asking to point out a formation of society that reflected your stated values, and the book which i can read about it in. Im saying every society that i am aware of, no matter the title, had a ruling class leaching off the working class. I spent a lot of time around gangs and they’re not super keen on property rights. infact most of the organizing bodys you mentioned are not… How would the rich people hire militias, what resources are they exchanging for the services.
