The reason why Google’s search quality has gone downhill so quickly it’s because, rather than your search query being put though it’s search engine, it’s being put through Gemini to make their AI numbers look better to investors.

All of this is made worse by the fact that Gemini, itself, isn’t very good as chat bots go, at least compared to it’s competitors.

He looks like the stereotypical person I think of when I think of someone from Alabama, only he’s dressed in a suit.

The government are creating the type of netizens they do not want to have.

Every time there’s something like age verification or something involving stopping teenagers doing something, I keep trying to tell the people who think it’s a good idea that it won’t work because teenagers are crafty.

Everyone seems to ignore that, because we grossly underestimate the intelligence and craftiness of the average teenager, clearly forgetting how crafty we were as teenagers.

The fact that every single search query is fed through Gemini has made Google worse than its competitors, ergo, Dog shit.

Well, in my experience, at least is still better than Gemini.

I can’t believe that Google of all companies in the AI space have created the most dog shit AI.

Basically what they want is regulations that they can write so nobody else can spin up an AI company, or run an independent AI model on their home lab for example. And yes, you can download an llm and run it on a beefy enough computer, independent from any LLM company.

Basically they want laws that develop a Monopoly so we have to rent out AI agents rather than make our own, and have that written down in law.

They also do not want say, smaller companies developing their own AI systems and instead be forced to rent from them.

Are there dangers in AI? Yes very so. Misaligned AI have done things in a lab setting that is concerning, but these regulations are calling for aren’t there to deal with that, it’s to create a monopoly because they realise that everyone from hobbyists to governments can run their own AI system if they can afford to.

The people who want small government wants the government to kill the opposition… Which doesn’t sound very small government.

Yeah, nah, that’s not how Christianity works, or how religions work outside of tiny movements or strict organisations.

Almost from Jesus’s death Christianity diverged as the gospel spread through word of mouth, it’s why alongside the canonical Gospels you had various different non canonical Gospels, because before things were written down and a canon formed, people told different stories about Jesus.

You also had various different Christianities form straight from the getgo. The Thomasines, the Coptic Church, the Ethiopian church are major examples, The Gnostics are a more extreme example. Hell in the bible itself you see two different currents with Paul and James.

Also the idea that one follows the “One True Church” is a silly statement if you glance at the Bible or records of the early church. Do you attend a house church, where members of the community worship at someone’s home? Do you take communion as part of a symposium-like meal like the early Christians did in Paul’s time? Do you reject traditional property norms, holding things in common? Do you, as Jesus said before telling us the Lord’s prayer, reject big public shows of piety and long babbling prayers, only saying the Lord’s prayer?

As religions spread, they begin to develop variations, with Protestantism doubly so. Saying Catholicism isn’t a form of Christianity is akin to a Theravada Buddhist saying that they are the only true form of the Drama, or an Anarchist saying a Trade Unionist isn’t a leftist.

Ok, then you are a minority even among Protestants.

I’d love to see you explain to Catholics and Orthodox Christians how they’re not Christians and Christianity was somehow founded in 1517, 1484 years after Christ was crucified.
