Hell, even if you don’t have a dedicated IP (where I live they don’t hand you one unless you’re a business) that’s pretty easy to sort out if your registrar has an API for updating DNS zones.

semi-offtopic, i wrote a custom client since ddclient doesn’t work for non-eu ovhcloud accounts, hmu if you need it and i’ll polish it a bit and publish it. homelab has been working great with it so far.

put ddclient on that baby, have it update your dns records and you’ll have a portable server. absolutely cursed. you’re welcome.

personally i’m working on hand-rewriting several projects vibecoded out by a non-dev in a small shop. not only is a lot of this straight up broken nonsense, the amount of tech debt is staggering. previous job wasn’t better, i had to spend more time fixing slop from former coworkers than actually introducing new features. keep your skills sharp and persevere. we’ll get through this.
