copy file.txt prn was an interesting shortcut for printing things 35 years ago.
The Linux equivalent of that is cat file.txt > /dev/lp0. It still works if you have a parallel port printer that accepts plain text.

RAM that’s hogged by windows is wasted RAM. It should be used by programs and for caching.

The Pi 4 & 5 are no good for tinkering anymore, but the Pi Pico microcontrollers still are. I just hope they don’t screw that up too.

It would even make a decent living room gaming PC. The 3050Ti won’t run the modern AAA junk, but it will handle most indie games and a lot of older games.

Reddit is slowly dying. It will eventually be 100% bots.

They made a large chunk of the internet inaccessible without javascript.

Mumble is much better for gaming. It’s lightweight and doesn’t use the GPU at all. Since it’s self hosted, there is no ID verification.

The fine should be much bigger, the generators should be confiscated and any executives that approved it should be in jail.

There are ways to obfuscate VPN traffic that’s resistant to DPI. It makes it look like normal HTTPS traffic. That will make completely blocking VPNs difficult. I’m sure even more effective obfuscation methods will be developed if VPN blocking becomes widespread.

That’s perfectly fine. The only issue is that it may limit performance on some laptops.

There’s a hole in the screen where the front camera is. The screen corners are also about as round as a 1950s TV. That’s very annoying when apps are not aware of it and things get cut off.
I’m sure someone could figure out how to boot Linux on a vacuum tube computer. The problem is there just aren’t that many around that are still operational.
The Steam Deck uses a M.2 2230 SSD. They are slightly smaller than an SD card. I wish phones would start using them. The performance is way better than and SD card or EMMC.

Having an alert go off if it gets too warm would be useful. That just needs a smart temperature sensor connected to your HA server though.

It can work as long as the phone has an option to limit the battery charge to 80% or less. Keeping the battery fully charged for an extended amount of time will damage it and may even cause it to puff up.

If you want to go the DIY option for a 3D printer, there is Voron. It’s open source hardware and it runs the Klipper firmware which is open source.

Businesses need to start banning smart glasses with cameras or at least require the cameras to be covered with tape.

The helium slowly leaks out over time. That will increase drag and decrease thermal conductivity. It will run hotter and use more power. There is a SMART attribute that will warn you when the helium is running low.

That’s a helium filled drive, so it’s got a limited lifespan whether it’s running or not. I would at least set it up as a NAS and use it to store your backups.
Block all of Meta’s domains and ASNs on your network and cut off contact with anyone that uses it.
