We use their ‘B2’ thing (which is pay-per-GB), not their ‘personal backup’ thing (which is the one without Linux support and IIRC is ‘oh it’s unlimited! don’t use Too Much though! how much is too much? oh it’s unlimited!’). B2 is “S3 compatible” storage not a regular thing, so it’s kind of a hassle to work with, but some backup tools can back up to S3-style storage (we use restic for that).

There’s also Matrix, but it kinda sucks. (We have both it and XMPP.) It handles encryption key management infinitely better than XMPP though.

(If you’re selfhosting or trust your server, and the people you’re talking with are selfhosting or trust their server and you trust their server, you probably don’t need end to end encryption and XMPP without E2EE will work fine.)

General PSA that you can have nice bespoke websites written by paw that are fine on mobile! CSS has a lot of neat stuff these days, and also making things mobile-friendly doesn’t have to involve Awful Corporate Design Trends.

Hell, you can even run PS2 games FROM DISC with pcsx2! Pop 'em into your desktop, hit play.
HDMI to composite adapter should have you covered (for the most part) connectionwise.
Actually, you’d be surprised! I thought all disc games still shipped with the game? You would be missing any patches, though.

Microsoft’s .NET spies on you to some extent (“telemetry”, you can turn it off… in theory… with an environment variable of all things, and nothing else, AFAWK). So… yeah.
