There are two things to be aware of to understand this comic:

1. Surgeons are usually discouraged from operate on their family members due to conflicts of interest (eg. they may make judgement calls not in the patient’s best interest due to emotional conflicts).

2. There is a popular riddle that goes something like this: a father and son get into a car accident. The father dies and the son is in critical condition. The son is sent to the hospital and goes in for an operation. The surgeon walks in, sees the patient and goes " I can’t operate on him, he is my son!" How is this possible? The intended solution is that the surgeon is the boy’s mother and it’s supposed to show our unconscious bias. (Yes I know the other solution is a father in a same sex relationship but that’s not relevant here).

So this comic plays on the readers assumptions by introducing a familiar premise (the riddle with the surgeon) but the subverts expectations in a humurous way (she’s adopting her patients to get out of work).

Yeah I love getting notified of animal sighting and there is an overlap so I set it more permissive so I can get animal sightings.

I don’t know if this counts as a “scene” but the installer for Red Alert 2.

This was my first time experiencing a game installation experience like this and also probably my last time.

Launching the installer for Red Alert 2 and getting greeted with voice acting, game art and hype music was just so unexpected for me back then and really hyped me up.

It’s such a crazy experience, but it’s the type of experience that will likely never come back.

Bioshock infinite

I think these days bioshock infinite isn’t seen as that great of a game by modern standards but back when the game was first released I went into the game blind after playing the first game.

The introduction of the main setting of BioShock infinite blew me away. I didn’t expect it and I really loved the way the game introduces you to the world. Bioshock infinite probably had one of the strongest beginnings of any game I’ve played.

I thought a drug dealer only had 2 phones but I could be wrong. Maybe like an extremely paranoid drug dealer would have more phones.
