Makes sense and seems to be true for many cases.

I’d add tho that I unfortunately met some folks in my life that I’d like to unmeet, and from what I’ve perceived - people doing scams are also far from being sharpest tools in the shed.

Not to mention that back when scam calls on the phone were still quite common - wasting time of those guys was one of the funniest things to do. Like, at some point that person should’ve realised I’m shitting them, just have to make them move off the script and watch them come up with bullshit that truly reflects that person’s stupidity.

From where I’m from plastic was kind of luxury until 90’s and that’s one of very few things from that country that would be great to bring back.

Inatead of cellophane bags there were netting bags or paper ones, bottles were all glass that got collected, sent back to factories to be washed and refillled. If one got their hands on plastic bag or bottle, probably somehow smuggled from the West - it was a goddamn status symbol from then on, and you don’t throw your status symbol away. 🌝

  • I’m not as anti-AI as some folks on here tho, especially since LM-Studio is a thing with assortment of models to run locally. Probably would have few psychotic breaks by now from loads of paperwork I have all the time if not for these models.

But I draw the line at creative work. If half of the workflow is vibe-something - then it loses the creative part. Not to mention that with 3D modelling specifically (what interests me personally) it’s just an illusion of going faster - one will just waste a lot of time fixing and remeshing mess that AI gave out.

  • I would argue that both liberalism and leftism are spectrums and parts of them overlap, so it’s not like one ≠ other. After all, any participation in democratic process means going reforms and regulations way, even if the endpoint is abolishing capitalism, which would be a logical goal for democratic socialism, for example.

  • I’m lucky to have colleagues that understand that doing things with AI, that are supposed to reach some audience, will feel low effort to said audience. Like, if I’m tryna sell someone my shit I better not half-ass advertising. Not to mention broken telephone game of me explaining stuff to AI for AI to explain it to potential clientele.
