Yes that was the status quo. And now we have the status quo times 1000 worse. Democrats have not been shocked into compliance either. A systemic overhaul is required and it’s bigger than one person.
I learned that a significant majority of the US voting population will torch the country if the candidates in our inherently flawed voting system are not good enough for their moral or ethical standards. Status quo vs driving the country off a cliff are not the same thing.
