Does impeachment achieve anything, or have any consequences at all? Not really sure what the point is, seems to have no effect

Impeachment in the House is the first step to having a standing President removed from office. The second step (after the required first) is for the Senate to hold a trial. If 2/3rds of the Senators vote to convict, the President is removed.

What has occurred to trump so far is Step #1 two times without Step #2 being executed.

I was able to take advantage of the tax credit too to help pay for my heat pump. It allowed us to completely turn off natural gas service at our house which saves us hundreds of dollars a year for our situation.

The discontinuation of the tax credit for energy efficient homes is particularly bad because these type of programs typically gain more adoption the longer they go on as more people are made aware of them. There are likely people only today discovering these programs existed after they were discontinued by trump very early.

And are you confusing “red 4” for some branded stuff? I’m referring to the red part of the NFPA 704 diamond.

I’m not doubting you, but I’m confused how this can be. My understanding is generally ss the wavelength of the radio wave shrinks, signal through medium attenuation increases. What is it about 6GHz over 5GHz that provides that island of stability you’re describing?

Red 4 is just diesel with coloring for taxation differences. This fuel will see the exact same price hikes as road diesel or heating oil because its the same chemistry under the coloring.

I would doubt that current residential heating oil storage and combustion systems are compatible with the noxious nature of these two to operate as a direct replacement in a home.

4.7 million Americans heat their homes with heating oil. Heating oil is essentially diesel (same fraction of distillation). Its going to be a cold and expensive winter for millions of Americans.

The increase in frequency reduces signal penetration. Things like walls become major sources of signal attenuation. In open office plans, with no obstructive walls, no problem. In a house or apartment where you’re separated by multiple walls (and the materials/thickness those walls are made of) that can add up to significant signal loss.

I haven’t personally tried any 6GHz wifi technologies. Have you used it in any places where you’re separated by obstructions from the access point?

WiFi 6e and 7 are legitimate competitors to standard 1gig Ethernet.

In isolation, perhaps. Now cram 25 neighbors in high density housing in range with one another all using the same spectrum and see if that performance still is sustainable.

I can’t tell if this is cope on my part or a possible silver lining to the utter shitshow you just mentioned (plus so much more) when complete control of all 3 houses of government belong to the GOP.

Will this galvanize the US votes for the next 20 years to keep the GOP out of control when all the negative consequences really show in the years ahead? Will any GOP backpedaling fall flat because they had total control and this is what they did with it? No, I never said its impossible. I said the closer you get to seeing those in power, the less likely it appears to happen for a number of reasons, but mostly because they are simply not as smart or capable as we generally give them credit for. Wealth and power does not equal intelligence.

These are people like you and me. No different. They contribute high tech and high quality work to multi million and billion dollar programs. They may make a fraction of the wage we do here in the West, but that isn’t because they are any less smart, skilled, ambitious, or honest. That is only the product of history and geopolitics. I’ve personally gone to India and seen first hand the work they do, and worked alongside them. They work as hard as we do for a better life for themselves and their families.
