You’re completely missing the point. You’re referring to recording as a noun but everyone else is referring to the verb, the act of recording. The very fact that it is capturing data for further processing regardless of how long it is stored or where is the problem.

There’s a big difference between what’s happening in the commercial world and art circles. I can’t speak for food but with regards to the topic here, Japan has a huge creator market and that market responds very differently. A year back, their biggest creator fair had a few “artists” selling AI “art” but essentially no one was interested and they hardly sold anything while others had sprawling queues. This year there was pretty much 0 as a result.

If you’re defining programming as simply translating an algorithm. Into code as is, sure it isn’t art. However, designing abstractions and the structure which allows said algorithm to work with various parts of a program seamlessly and beautifully can be art.
