Run your ai in sandbox, and don’t give it git access.

Enough break-in reports of AI these days … I would not rely on a sandbox. Air-gapped.

Good thing you added that. I’m so old-school/paranoid that I must have ownership of and physical access to the backup media to be able to count them as a backup.

That’s the new normal.

Maybe for some but then i’m happy to be old-school. I can live with the fact not everyone can/wants to follow the 3-2-1 strategy but expect no sympathy if you have no backup’s at all

If you don’t include .git/ in your backup you simply have no backup.

This folder is where Git keeps track of all the changes made to your files, allowing you to revert to previous versions, collaborate with others, and maintain a complete history of your project.

That’s on you then. Restore from backup and accept having lost a day’s work.

AI line of fridges

excuse me ?? smart fridge ?? AI ?? I don’t want to talk calories or nutrients, I just want a cold beer and fresh milk & vegetables. There will be a cold day in hell before I buy an AI capable fridge. I’ll go to a root cellar long before that! (i live in the woods, so yes, I CAN do that easilly)

They put them on goddamn backwards

honestly … I’ve mounted one of the two blades backward a while ago. It was an fairly easy discovery, one blade cut grass, the other just smashed it around which gave a lot of rumble in the deck

edit: wait … you managed driving around with blades for 2 years?? I meet so many stones I sometimes wonder if I make it 2 hours. (yes, I once cleared the garden of stones, but Swedish soil is very much alive, they re-appear in other places only to move to another place again and again)

I’m stunned … again !! … I have visited Auschwitz and it’s impressive beyond words. At the entrance of the former gas chambers there is a sign asking to respect and remember those who died in there and keep silent in the chambers. Everyone did except for Israeli students. That is what brought the tears to my eyes. Betrayed and disrespected again, this time by their own.
