One day, I need to recreate a dish my late grandma did. Probably simple, but very nostalgic at personal level. I don’t think AIs are much help here.

There was some AI ad where someone pointed their camera to their messy shelf and were like “Hey, how do I clean up my shelf?” and the AI was like “try rearranging the smaller items first” and about a billion people went “no shit”.

“AI” is a very broad term. You have to be very specific when talking about it.

The models that crunch biochemistry problems are not related to LLMs and image generation. Just because you’re against one doesn’t mean you have to be against the other.

Heck, I’m not against LLMs as a technology, I just hate the LLM business side with the fury of thousand suns. I don’t have problems with scientific research which happens to use “AI”. (But I do have concerns about research incorporating AI, if it leads to unreproducible results.)

The Sims Medieval is a weird game. It’s barely a Sims game in the sense that you create characters, can edit the character’s homes a bit, and the characters have needs you need to take care of.

But it’s actually this weird RPG-like game where the characters play parts in stories and ongoing narrative. Basically you create characters for specific roles, and pick mini-stories to play through. Kind of hard to explain.

Also it’s running on The Sims 3 engine so it’s full of jank from the get-go, and it’s basically unsupported by EA, and - and! - delisted from Steam in favour of Origin/EA app.

Will be reborn? If they had actually released Winamp under a real open source licence, it would have been reborn years ago! A bit late for it now!

DSP is a bit of a one joke YouTuber. Yeah, we get it, he’s terrible at games, any sensible person can just continue on with their lives. I have no idea why people watch him, let alone donate to him.

I only hear about him randomly when an odd compilation pops up in the recommendations. I think he recently played Dark Souls 2 and it was a total shitshow from the looks of it? People kept invading him and he just alt+F4d every time.
