The Congolese cyclist from the Democratic Republic of the Congo was known for his cross-Africa bike rides as part of the “Pedals for Peace” initiative, dedicated to promoting peace and unity. His sudden [killing] sent shockwaves across Africa; we consider him yet another victim of the war that has been ravaging his country for years.     More information on this tragedy:

    According to the information gathered on the spot, Miguel Masaisai was confronted with a breakdown of his bike and sought the help of a taxi driver to reach a place where his craft could be repaired and where he could resume his journey.

    The vehicle, which also carried two other passengers, was involved in an accident. The four occupants, including Miguel Masaisai and the driver, perished, according to the same sources.

      wait…he died INSIDE of a motorized vehicle that wasnt his bike?! Even the other occupants died too? Thats insane work.

      My relatives keep on telling me how bad those African roads are cause the people and the government keep on sending money and resources that should be domestically invested to Global North countries and …yup…another story proves how right they are. Unequal Exchange and all that jazz.

      I remember reading a story about a protest that happened in an African country about some people who were pissed off at how shitty their roads are in that particular country. Bro the fucking police officers who came to disrupt the protest had their vehicles trapped in mud from the unfixed roads 😂🤣
