More like, if you are petty enough to dive into someones history rather than judge what was written…they do have a point. You are exiting the scope of a comment, thus yielding current discussion and try to find a point of critique in the bigger picture. Kinda sad.
Usually I’m there to block them. I also think it’s “sad” that you’re suggesting holding someone accountable by checking what they’ve written in the past and how it compares to what they’re currently saying isn’t valid, as if there is no obligation to have consistent beliefs. If you’re just there to find the one time they said something cringe and dunk on them for it, sure, that is stupid; but the concept of checking someone’s history isn’t.
