I mean it makes sense, it’s really the only job out there that seems fun anymore. A lot of the “traditional” jobs are getting shafted, teachers are underpaid and stressed, IT is getting outsourced, gaming is a flooded market, programming is getting cut by AI, engineers are doing okay but every position is basically “underpaid corporate job” unless you’re a standout expert, even acting is a hard market, it always has been.
The trades or an influencer is really the only “decent” job left, and the trades are sometimes grueling work. So of course kids want to be twitch streamers and Instagram live influencers. If you hit it big you make bank, and it seems fun.
teachers, i found out took a wierd twist. now they cant find jobs, some are increasing thier requirements or just hiring substitutes, despite the pay become better for teachers, which really doesnt match the COL in many places. its the districts cheaping out.
