I was super lucky to replace my oil furnace with a heat pump a couple of years ago, before prices of heat pumps and oil skyrocketed. I used to pay $600-700 every three months in the winter just on heating oil (I had a very inefficient 1950’s oil furnace in my poorly insulated 1940’s home).
Now I have air conditioning and heating without spending hundreds of dollars. I wonder how much it would cost to fill the oil tank now.
If you’re going this route, you may want to pay attention to the switchover time. For most consumer hardware, it can handle 10-20ms of switchover time. However, enterprise grade stuff is more sensitive to power fluctuations and sometimes needs near instantaneous switchover. It can get very expensive if you want LiFePo4 (like many of these portable stations) while also being “on line” (meaning instant switchover).
There are middle ground options which have switchover timing of 5-8ms that are also LiFePo4. LiFePo4 is great because the chemistry doesn’t have a huge fire risk and it can do more cycles than a lead acid battery.

It’s not an assumption. You can give an LLM all of the instructions in the world and it can still hallucinate. This is the fundamental flaw with LLMs, they’re always hallucinating. They just have guidelines which make it so they get things right sometimes. They are not to be trusted just because you tell it to search or use agents.md.
You still have this fundamental misunderstanding. I encourage you to actually look into how LLMs work. Do not use an LLM to do this research for you.

People here have tried it, LLM use is basically enforced at a ton of companies and the tech industry crowd is a huge portion of the population here.
You’re likely being downvoted as you seem to have a fundamental misunderstanding of how LLMs function. LLMs don’t reason. LLMs don’t think. Telling an LLM to not guess might help ever so slightly, but LLMs can and do hallucate search results regularly.
It’s a mistake to trust that LLMs aren’t hallucinating just because you told the LLM to not guess.

I’m also very worried, as my neighborhood still has a lot of people using oil furnaces, primarily those on fixed incomes. Their situation is pretty dire, to put it lightly.
I was able to, yeah. It definitely helped me afford it. It’s really sad that they got rid of it, basically ensuring that some people will be living in cold homes at some point this year. Those credits were good for everyone except for the oil companies: heat pumps help save on power bills (being one of the few > 100% efficient heating methods), they can reduce electrical grid stress if people move to heat pumps from resistive heating, and they help reduce pollution. It’s just another way this administration and the oil companies are hurting everyone.
