I think and folks have given me new perspectives. There is decent discourse that develops but not always and not even the majority. Like the rest of life you got to appreciate it when its good because its certainly not always going to be.

same thing as my solution to every problem. reduce wealth disparity. most every adult who manages to get a decent life going tends to start excersising and buying more healthy food. yeah I just never came across it. Like I have used rm but don’t think I would ever do -f for sure no matter the case in a script. -r I don’t think I have used. Any cases where I made a directory I think it was just files in it and even then the files all had a set name scheme so I would rm based on the scheme for the files and then the directory seperately. Can’t say I have ever done all that complicated of scripts though. My big two was a user creation one and a disaster recovery nightly/weekly backup kind of thing.

yeah over a group. The thing is the investment definately will not meet needs. I have been doing the math on my retirement for many decades and it did not work out even when times are good and now its worse. Gambling has a non zero chance of meeting all needs if the pot is big enough. I get why people get desperate. Heck I used to buy a lottery ticket here and there back when it was a relatively paltry amount relative to my income.

Im going to say no for two reasons. Firstly its bad for ones teeth. If someone needs to feel the need to suck their thumb they are likely going to do it to the extent that its bad for the teeth. Secondly the social negatives will be massive. Bullies will wing off almost immediately and there is a good chance of having some sort of physical altercation. Unless your built like a line backer. Maybe then you can be so physically impossingly powerful to keep bullies silent. Beyond that though its likely to negatively impact various social situations if a schoolmate or work mate sees you. Heck it could follow you into some adult life interview. Its just to outside the norm.

Many are skeptical that there is a push by ai companies to make them appear more than they are due to their weak economic footing. From my experience with the llms I am not frightened they will become self aware. I am frightened that we are wasting energy and resources while polluting the planet further for little return and it will result in messing up our economies even more.
