I find that an absolutely batshit take based on what I mentioned. In reality, dog breeds are a considerably different situation, with centuries of rudimentary-level genetic engineering involved in order to create a range of dogs with specialized characteristics and behaviors.

Of course not every dog in that breed is going to have exactly the same personality, but the point is that different breeds will have considerably different temperaments exactly due to what what humans wanted from that line of dogs.

Earlier today I saw a post about a lady who received the “Minas Tirith” LotR LEGO set for her birthday. It looked huge, and costs ~US$650.

Now, I like LEGO just fine, as you can observe in my posting history, but I was thinking… instead of her spending countless hours laboriously following what must be a telephone-sized instruction book, only to get something in the end that’s noticeably different-looking from the scale models… why not build it (or something else) out of paper & cardboard, instead? It’s cheap as heck, a creative craft, can look really good as a finished, painted piece, and can even be sale-worthy.

Yeah I’m middle-aged and significantly disabled, so it was always just a theoretical. Not that I’m not jealous of everything NYC has to offer. This direct area could certainly use more interesting stores and a good pizza-by-the slice shop!
