I like matrix too but am dealing with weird networking issues, across ancient devices. Issues around MatrixRTC, old android devices, using HTTP vs HTTPS and the like are making me not want to live on this world any more.

Huh? I have the m93p, 710q and P330…and they can all mount internal 2.5" SATA drives (with the latter 2 being able to take m.2 also). The 720 must be the odd duck out.

I would say the way that most people use smart devices, yes. But if you have the time and patience to select the correct smart devices and set them up properly, you’re fine.

Of course, people are lazy, so for most folks, inviting Google Alex or Nest into their house leads to…chicanery.

PS: pick a robot vacuum cleaner that can work without sending shit to someone else’s server. And make your own “Alexa”
