Scandanavia is pretty much doing just about best in the world. I think they’re largely showing what can be done. Perfect? No. But better than the fascist shithole the US has become.

I don’t see anything besides capitalism working at ALL out there.

Yeah, I just wanted to make my silly joke, but after posting and seeing more comments, I figured I’d better make my actual stance slightly more clear. heh.

I think the glasses are cringe. But I think the violence against women - mostly women because the idiots using these don’t just limit themselves to women but it’s… mostly women that are the victims - is horrible.

I hate that I can’t just make a simple joke without feeling the need to speak out against this problem - not that I have to speak out, that the problem exists and therefore we have to waste time on this bullshit. We shouldn’t have to work against any of this shit, it shouldn’t exist.

The best countries that I can point to (Scandanavia) seem to have the highest regulated capitalism.

I don’t see any examples of countries that are not some form of capitalism, but in general, the less regulations, the worse they’re doing.

Also, I’d like to note that I said “sufficiently regulated” as the only qualifiers to capitalism, meaning I consider them pretty damn important. lol

I’ve certainly not seen any working alternatives that have worked at a nation-wide scale.

And where do you think it has worked?

I have yet to see anyone suggest workable practical alternatives, just feel-good masturbation like the above comment.

Work reform? We nede to string our fucking oligarchs up and solve wealth inequality. We need to use things that WORK. Capitalism is fine, just need sufficient regulations. What we don’t need is a useless communist reveolution that throws everything into utter chaos and fails.

We need strong unions, universal health care, universal basic income, human rights protections.

Not to fuck around playing with schemes that won’t work on the countries that already exist.

Considering the dialogue happening in many threads, I think it’s important to remember that Democrats and Republicans are still not the same. This is an example of an issue where many Democrats are failing us, yes. Just don’t expand that into “bOtH sIdEs” when that’s not true.

But hells yes. We need to prosecute criminals, and we need to throw out establishment Democrats and get real progressives running and winning. Always support the best candidate running (before/in the primaries, and then whoever makes it to the general).
