  • speak for yourself. chatgpt helped me program a medium-complexity task yesterday within ~3 hours which would have taken me about 1-2 weeks otherwise, i fear. especially, it’s really convenient because when you just don’t know some technical term, you can just describe what you mean and it will give you the correct keyword, while googling for that kind of information is difficult since you don’t even know where to start.

  • i’m happy for you :)

me teasing you for no reason

i wanted to write sth dumb first about how getting asked out for a date with a girl is always nice, and remember to use condoms, but i think that neither of us is in the mood for that right now. this is clearly important situation to you and i’ll try to treat it with respect!

on a more serious note, i tend to go on dinner with my family sometimes too, about once per week if we both have time (mostly with my dad because he works close to where i live, so it aligns well), and i think that it’s good that i don’t just live my life in total social isolation, but these occasional randomly-meet-with-other-people-for-no-reason is really nice.

  • that was a fantastic read and i agree 100%

never go for the tourist attractions. they’re a scam, put up by travelling agencies to lure people into spending money. it’s not worth it.

human contacts are where it’s at. if you have a friend there, that’s fantastic. i’m also considering going to congresses and events and the likes, just to meet people.

and yes, do learn the language, the culture, the habits, etc; because not learning them is rude, it shows that you have no interest in their culture, and then why do you even go there?

  • there’s two types of anxiety, which i call flowing anxiety and static anxiety.

    • static anxiety is when there’s a thousand small fears that worry you.
    • flowing anxiety is when you overwork yourself so much that the brain cannot handle the situations anymore that would otherwise be un-threatening. called that way because it happens when you are in active movement, thus exhausted.

  • upon closer investigation, i notice that water is added before each processing step and removed afterwards.

    • give water to the plants so they can do the growing, then remove moisture from harvest to make it shelf-stable.
    • mix flour with water to shape to dough, then dry the finished noodles to make them shelf-stable.
    • mix noodles with water for cooking, then remove the water
    • mix the noodles with sauce to make it easier digestible.
