Hellblade 1-2 was a walking simulator without even a cool plot.

I haven’t played 2 yet, but gonna have to defend 1 here… I thought the plot, while not mind-blowingly good, was both engaging and good. In fact I’d say it carried the game more than the gameplay.

It sucks to see, but what happens sometimes (not saying always) is the truly talented people who got laid off can band together to make another, smaller studio.

I for one think it wouldn’t be the worst thing if the gaming industry got a small correction from its current direction. And don’t get me wrong, I’m not a “all AAA gaming sucks now” kind of person (I’m on a FF7 Rebirth replay and cannot wait for Revelation). But I think overall, we need games with slightly smaller scope from people who are paid better.
