It is a screenshot of text. Obviously that makes it the meme-est meme of all memes.

Technology@lemmy.world•Data Centers Are a $6 Trillion Time Bomb, Analysts Warn: "What the industry needs is a wave of innovation that will dwarf what mobile and cloud unlocked."English
21·19 hours agoIt’s fine. All of this is borrowed money and commitments. The reason prices on RAM and GPUs are through the roof is because all of the future capacity has been spoken for. But when the datacenters all that silicon is supposed go into don’t arrive, all of that booked demand evaporates. I think we’ll see a very nice market correction. Big tech will be fine, but stock prices will tank. The US AI labs will continue to exist, but the chinese labs will gut their competitive advantage. US put all their eggs into this stupid AI basket and China will be happy to give away the tech to spit in the US’s soup.

Woah, I thought maybe the pic was flipped, but the text in the background says no. Yeah, it does appear they are all left handed. Sinister Fencers
I agree they absolutely could have explored way more interesting topics. Probably just lazy writing, honestly. Show is ending, Story must end too with the characters ending. Tidy. Irresponsible? Eh. I will say it really resonated with me that boredom should be a valid reason.
You gotta be real a real sub for Jesus to get into (one of many different versions of) Christian heaven. And remember, God loves you unconditionally, which is why if you don’t love him back, he will torture you in hell forever.
Can recommend. Just, uh, don’t watch the ending if you’re struggling with not wanting to live any more. They touch on how immortality is awfully boring after awhile and people should be able to choose to hit the off switch.
That’s a pure mastercrafted, genuine, bonafide Strawman.
We aren’t talking about money here. Or anything of real value. We’re talking about interacting with randos on the internet. It’s fun. It’s interesting. It is completely superfluous and not necessary. Fedihosting Stichting could decide they don’t wanna bother with this any more, and a large chunk of the fediverse goes poof. There is no permanence on the internet. Even the archives are spotty. I’ve cycled through so many aggregators, forums, IRC channels, XMPP whatever from the early internets to now. It all turns to mulch eventually. Meta will ditch facebook once enough of the olds die off. Reddit will be another Digg someday. So, getting a ban and getting butthurt over it is simply not worth the energy. I’ve given my share of fucks and none of it mattered. This too doesn’t matter.

memes@lemmy.world•Latex is quite a pain in picture placement and adjustment nglEnglish
32·8 days agoI think all of the downvotes are from people that no clue what LaTeX is, lol. Fediverse is a hilarious microcosm of nerds assuming other nerds sometimes.
Meh. It is just the internet. Janitors can do crazy things given a modicum of power. Luckily, it is so incredibly low stakes, that it just isn’t worth being upset over lol.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•How come when people report something to the mod's in a community a one person can take care of it? Instead shouldn't it be voted on to remove content by the majority mod team?English
3·10 days agoLuckily the stakes are mega low. If someone makes a poor mod decision, that’s easy to reverse. If you want a team’s members each able to work independently but aligned, then you achieve consensus by other means: front-loading the work of creating a shared understanding such that any independent decision made according to the shared understanding would be stable regardless of which team member made it. Ultimately, this is a process relying on trust and cooperation. If a team member violates that trust or plays poorly with others, there should be a process or result. And what this consequence is should be baked in at the create-shared-understanding phase so there is no excuse for bad behavior within the team and an easy out if there are problems.

It is wild how Dawkins and his cadre turned out to be pretty shitty. And now it is used as a “gotcha”
