I’ve always interpreted the one in the image as the one voicing the problem in memes like this. Like, for all we know, it’s just a selfie of the one who made the meme originally.
It is indeed a bit presumptive. It could be much more well-meaning, or at least not meaning to have that interpretation. But without addressing it, it feels like a big weird elephant in the room.
