NYC meeting: President Donald Trump thanked Mayor Zohran Mamdani for hosting him at Gracie Mansion in New York today and said he hoped he would be a “great” mayor. Trump is in town to attend the United Nations General Assembly, where he will address world leaders tomorrow.
What they discussed: Mamdani said the two discussed the safety of immigrants and building a better New York. Trump said he reminisced about past visits to Gracie Mansion and he also left the door open to supporting a massive housing development plan backed by the mayor.

Look, the guy sucks, but Mamdani is representing NYC and its people. He shouldn’t be spurring the president just out of spite when he can instead use him to get something out of him. Trump is an idiot. It’s well known that you can make him do what you want if you just tell him he’s a good boy and pat him on the back. When the alternative is fighting against him withholding funding for NYC, this is the much better option for NYC.
I mean the bigger question is the other way around. Trump hates Dems with a fiery passion but for some reason he wants to hang out with the socialist?
Mamdani has one of the very few things money cannot buy outright: he is reasonably well liked throughout NYC.
