cute mom btw
That Dorothy Hamill cut was the shit.
I was second-hand smoking two packs a day until I was 13 (when my mom got lung cancer). But back then, every kid I knew was doing the same. Now, seeing people smoking is a relatively rare occurrence.
I’m a school bus driver and a majority of my colleagues smoke. Some things will never change.
I was a grown ass adult before I knew how awful cigarettes smelled simply because I was always surrounded by smoke I just thought that was how the world smelled.
I knew it stank, hated that shit growing up. But I didn’t realize just how fucking godawful it was until I moved out. My stuff reeked for months, or years if it was stored.
I’m old enough to remember coming home from bars with my clothes reeking, even though I never smoked myself.
Yep they smoke with windows rolled up in the cars, and in the house. Hell it was rare to find someone who didn’t smoke. Then they got all shocked when we all picked up the habit as well when we got old enough to do so.
Luckily for my kids I quit when they were young and yeah I don’t really know anyone who smokes cigarettes anymore.
That leather coat mom is wearing is fucking fire. Wonder how much a real leather jacket like that would cost today?
When I was a kid my parents didn’t let me use a lighter to light fireworks so they gave me a lit cigarette instead.
I think I just remembered something similar
Me too. “It lasts a lot longer and isn’t nearly as dangerous since it isn’t an open flame,” they told me.
They sell punk for this. They look like incense sticks without any scent. Just a smoldering slow burning stick, used to light fireworks with.
Mosquito coils work excellent as well.
those things ppl use to quit vaping?
I like how they have the same haircut
I remember @ 7-8yo going to the local convenience store with a note to buy my mom cigarettes.
When I was a kid in the '70s there were cigarette vending machines everywhere. If you wanted to smoke, you could smoke.
Same. Hell I remember wearing a Benson&Hedges sports cap (oxymoron if I heard one…) up until the age of 16, despite having never smoked
Wish I had a mom
🎶 It was acceptable in the 80s 🎶
Still acceptable in Vietnam. Shocking to me, a tourist.
“Back before cigarettes were bad for you. See? No warning labels.”
Hold the smoke deeply in your lungs – it’s the best thing for you!

And then your fingers stank for an hour.
But at least she never got a yeast infection
I’m old, the most offensive thing about this is that indestructible percolator.
On the stove? I believe that is for gravy.
I like the cut of your jib.
This could be a picture of my father and grandmother. Like, I think we have one of the same scene.
That’s why Paul Simon wrote a whole song about Kodachrome.
Great tune
How the hell could someone smoke cigs in the 70’s and not be able to grasp it in their lips while using both hands?
Not lady like. That’s old man smoking.
All the cool kids held their cigarettes pinched between thumb and second finger. None of this first and second finger V-shape weakness
Dorothy Hamill haircut. So popular back then.
