AI does everything 20000 times better than I ever will

I find it hard to believe that AI throwing pointers and references at random counts as “20000 times better” than anything.

Besides, saying that means that you fell for the worst trap, of believing that everything it does is flawless. It’s not. You’re in uni, so you don’t really have experience in ordering people around, which is what fucking around with AI is - you give an order and wait for a result. If you trust 100% of the end result, the problem is you.

AI is great at stuff you don’t know about, because when you do know about it, you’ll notice errors and mistakes, making you realize you cannot trust it.

The reading experience of this article on a PC is mildly infuriating. The font is fixed size, zooming out does nothing, arrow keys don’t scroll up or down. Everything is javascript, so Firefox’ reading mode shows zero actual text

Gonna watch that later, Threat sounds arrogant often and goes out of his way to insult others so I wouldn’t be surprised if he was wrong or acting in bad faith. I incidentally watched his “reply” to that GN video earlier today, which could be boiled down to “I was right and they were wrong”, without picking any specific parts and explaining, which raised some red flags for me.

I don’t know how the newest Doom does raytracing, but if it’s one case where it only “works” with an Nvidia card, I suppose Threat dude is right in that the company is being the biggest wall against vendor agnostic - and possibly more performant - raytracing

I’ve always enjoyed learning different stuff at different times. I have a strong suspicion on anything made by AI because I can’t trust it - I know it can get some stuff right, but it’ll also get stuff wrong. If it’s about something I don’t know about, I won’t know what’s right or wrong, forcing me to doubt everything it outputs, which is frankly tiresome. Sure, humans can also get stuff wrong, though you can usually tell if the mistake was intentional (for views/entertainment/money/bad faith) or not (honest mistake).

Thanks to my distrust of AI explained above, I avoid using it. AI can be “efficient”, but I don’t need to be efficient with the stuff I want to do for myself. Efficiency is for bosses and work, my life and my hobbies are about taking my damn time to do, and fail and learn, however the fuck I want.

One thing I always say (stole from elsewhere): AI is great for what you don’t know, and awful for what you do know. Explained: when you know about the topic in question, you find out the mistakes and figure it’s not very reliable. When you don’t know about the topic, you think everything is fine because you don’t know enough about the topic to tell what might be wrong.
