Right, but sending them say to the moon, to perfect the tech, then sending the tech to further places will drastically speed up the process. The moon is at least not too far away. Mars isn’t terrible either. But the overhead is high compared to the distance. So being able to iterate without a launch (human presence) is a big win. If we were talking saturn, then the gains start to diminish. So perfect it on the moon, maybe mars if there is some reason it is drastically different, then use it elsewhere. Maybe even send some outside the solar system. Though without significant improvements in propulsion, there isn’t a lot of point to sending outside the solar system.

Yeah, but humans are impatient. Each rover has only a select set of tools. It can’t adapt to what it might find. It has to wait for another rover to be sent. To automate modifying the rovers will take a lot of hands on experience. Then ideally they could just ship up parts to be swapped in.

I’m a fan, but I don’t see how they could really make thread scary on screen. In the books it is portrayed as almost some kind of inate fear that can not be denied. But movies can’t really pull that off.

Probably invent some new sports. And because we don’t know what we don’t know. So it’s hard to build a robot to look for what we don’t know about.

I think though it would help to have people there while they perfect the automation.

You do have to keep some tests for yourself, and don’t let claude touch those (or even see them ideally).
Though I have been reading that you can actually have a second agent manage tests. That way it’s motivation is to find bugs. So if anything it will hallucinate failures.
That said… if corp is pushing AI, then they get the result. Most of the time it will be fine. When it isn’t it’s the AI we have been encoraged to use’s fault.

I love the idea of two AIs working against each other. One with the instruction to attempt to deny the claim, the other instructed to get the claim approved. In the end it is just a battle of who will pay more money to keep trying. And then, we can setup rogue bots they file random claims with some cheap opensource model just to burn the insurance companies tokens.

If they can perfect the saftey switch they talk about in the article. Then maybe stem cells for the brain will be like vitamins. Cause damage to like the blood brain barrier is hard to detect, but seems to be present in a decent number of “syndromes”. Like autism for one. It would be nice if they understood the why and how’s, but that could be decades away.

Yes, I feel we are making the same point. A company is neither ethical or not. The people who work there are.

One… use --dangerously… they asked for speed, thats how you get it. Two… if you have great tests, you don’t really need to know every detail of the code. The risk just shifts from a dev designing bad code, to a dev designing bad tests.

Companies are not people. They have no ethics. The only thing that keeps them in check is regulation and market forces.

The government is supposed to work for the people. I think it is clear that noone wants to be obese. So you have a significant % of the population that wants help. That makes it the governments job to try and help. Of course that isn’t how government functions at all.

If people don’t choose the third track, it will never be finished getting built. And clearly having only 2 tracks isn’t working.
